Media NGOs request the solving of cases of death threat of journalists

17.07.2013 / Media NGOs request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and to the General Prosecutor to investigate thoroughly and to elucidate the editorialists reported cases Vasile Nastase and Constantin Cheianu and, if needed, to take all necessary measures to protect the lives and physical integrity of them.

Media NGOs appeal for the guarantee of transparency in decision making processes

08.07.2013 / Media NGOs noted the authorities' intention to cease the online broadcasting of the Government meetings, which has happened after the approval on July 3, 2013, by the Government of a draft law that does not involve any more an instrument to ensure the public specific of the Government meetings.

03.07.2013 - According to a study launched by the IJC as part of the project “Open Governance for an Informed and Active Society”, the Ministry of Health (with 112 sets of data), the Ministry of Internal Affairs (with 90 sets of data), and the National Bureau of Statistics (with 86 sets of data) are leaders on the portal www.date.gov.md in terms of the amount of data that has been made public.
IJC closed the debates on modification of the legislation on ensuring media transparency

CJI a incheiat dezbaterile privind modificarea legislatiei in vederea asigurarii transparentei media14.06.2013 / The representatives of the audiovisual media, of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council, the Parliamentary Commission for Mass-media discussed on Friday, June 14, 2013, the final version of the amendments proposed to the legislation in order to ensure the transparency of media ownership. The public debates were organized by the Independent Journalism Center (IJC) in the framework of a project on legislation optimization, supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

Joint Multimedia Projects Implemented by Journalists from Both Banks of the Nistru River
10.06.2013 / Between March-May 2013, twenty journalists from different regions of Moldova had their first experience in developing over 20 joint multimedia materials that were posted in several online publications, domestic information portals, including in Transnistrian region.
IJC experts address Transnistrian Media Needs

7.06.2013 / Media and civil society in the Transnistrian region need a long-term support program, which should rely on principles of professional journalism, focus on development of online journalism and support setting up of some NGOs to promote freedom of expression in the region. These are some of the findings of a recent Transnistrian media needs assessment launched by the Independent Journalism Center on June 6, 2013.
